About carol austin

Carol Austin is a Savannah artist, who has a passion for painting Georgia’s coast. Having grown up on St. Simons Island, and having spent a great deal of time on Georgia’s barrier islands, Carol has been inspired by the undisturbed beauty of the maritime forests, fields, marshes and waterways.

 

In addition, her family includes three gregarious outdoorsmen- husband Jim and sons James and John.

 

Carol enjoys accompanying the men on their hunting and fishing excursions, but carries paints and an easel with her to the woods and water in case inspiration should strike (and sometimes it’s a fish!).

 

Carol also enjoys a rewarding, part-time career as a hospice social worker.
